The Bare Essential – Sugaring Guide

If you’re a sugaring wax newbie, don’t worry!
We broke down the process into five (5), simple, easy to follow steps.

The Bare Essential- Sugaring Guide can also be accessed by scanning the QR Code at the bottom right hand corner of each Newd Gyal Organic Sugaring Wax label.

STEP 1 – CLEANSE

Ensure the skin is clean and free from: dirt, sweat, oils, and lotions.
Sugar Waxing on dirty skin can cause bacteria to enter your pores, which can result in skin infections such as folliculitis.

STEP 2- DRY

Lightly dust the skin with a drying powder after cleansing to absorb moisture from the skin. We recommend using Newd Gyal Organic All-Natural Drying Powder

If the skin is damp, the moisture will dissolve the sugar which will impact the effectiveness of the sugaring wax.

STEP 3 – APPLY SUGARING WAX

Before applying the sugaring wax, ensure hair is the correct length. Hair must be at least ¼ inch (about the length of a rice grain).

Our sugaring wax can be used straight out of the container without heat, however, some people prefer to heat before use.
If you are one of those people, you can reheat in the microwave for no more than 5-10 seconds. Sugar wax gets hot fast so DO NOT OVERHEAT.

Next, using the applicator, mold the wax in THIN LAYERS in the OPPOSITE direction of hair growth at least 3 times. This is to ensure the hair is fully coated with the sugaring wax.

Afterwards, remove the hair by holding the skin tight and pull swiftly in the direction of hair growth using a wax strip.

STEP 4 – SOOTH

After your sugaring hair removal session, gently massage a soothing gel, lotion or essence into the skin.
We recommend using Newd Gyal Organic Rose Water Soothing Essence.

STEP 5 – REPEAT

In four (4) to six (6) weeks, repeat steps 1-4.
With consistent use, sugar waxing leads to reduced hair growth.

We hope The Bare Essentials -Sugaring Guide proves to be useful.
